FLV Bandwidwidth and Data Rate... Demystified
Scott Fegette, over at Adobe, and I were at TODCON 06 and started trading Flash Video horror stories. What struck us was the people who were telling us these stories loved the technology but were having a hell of a time understanding bandwidth and data rate when it came to creating Flash Video or FLV files. We teamed up and the result is an article posted simulataneously at Community MX and the Adobe Design Center.

There is an app called Sorenson Squeeze which converts different formats to FLV and optimizes the file for different situations such as CD/high speed internet/modem..etc.
I'd strongly suggest those who don't know much about what Tom's said in his article to use this app. it has a lot of presets that would enbale you to optimize your files properly. BUT you still would need to know what those numbers are really for! you can't rely on the software forever. www.sorensonmedia.com
