Week 8: Animation Basics in Flash

Macromedia Flash’s reputation as an animation application was established right from
its inception as FutureSplash. The reason Flash is so commonly used for Web animation
is because, if done right, you can have a complex animation and a relatively small file
size. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by animators, and Flash animations are now appearing
on television, cell phones, and other devices. One of the great features of animation in
Flash is how easy it is for amateurs and professionals alike to move objects on the Stage.
With Flash 8, animations can take on new dimensions through the use tweens, filters,
and blend effects within the FLA file.
